Child Therapy

Individual and Group Therapy with 3-11 years old.

Play therapy is a well researched mode of psychotherapy for children. Children lack the cognitive maturity to work though their problems sitting and talking. Their creative and problem solving processes happen through play, and playful interaction.

The Play Therapist helps children explore their feelings and process their experiences through play and using a wide range of creative tools.

Adolescents Therapy

Individual and Group Therapy with 12-19 years old.

Therapy aims to provide the young person with a supportive and containing space and with the possibility of building a positive and consistent relationship with a trusted adult. Within the safety of the therapeutic environment a young person can begin exploring significant past and present experiences, and to engage in a process that will help them make sense of current difficulties so as to find new solutions to issues that are negatively impacting on their lives.
Young people can choose to verbalise their thoughts and feelings, or they can decide to access the art materials made available to them in the room.

The externalisation of an internal stress through art can allow the young person to gain some distance from the problem or dilemma and to work with the therapist towards a resolution.

Mindfulness

with children, young people and parents.

Childhood and adolescence are important formative developmental stages that lay the groundwork for well-being and mental health in adulthood. Mindful awareness exercises help children develop concentration and self-awareness. mindfulness can help children improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. In short, it helps with emotional regulation and cognitive focus.
